Jill is an experienced, energetic Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. She works with children, adolescents, adults, and groups varying in age from two years old to adulthood. Much of her work is aimed at helping families, couples, and individuals find new solutions to problems or challenges. She has been practicing in New Market for five years and has over fifteen years of experience in the mental health field.

Jill was trained at the Family Service Center, one of the few Family Therapy training, academic, and supervision programs in the U.S. Jill is licensed to work with individuals, couples, families, and groups from a variety of different clinical models. Some of these models include structural, cognitive-behavioral, strategic, solution-focused, Bowenian family of origin therapy, and client-centered therapy, as well as many others.

After meeting with individuals, couples, or families and assessing challenges and goals, Jill can help using a modality which fits each individual, couple, or family. This individualized assessment improves functioning and helps individuals, couples, and families reach their goals. Jill realizes each person and family is different, and she is comfortable working with these differences to help people feel better.

Some of the areas in which Jill specializes are reduction of stress, anxiety and depression, reduction of child and adolescent behavioral problems or challenges which may be impeding school or social functioning, increasing positive communication skills for individuals and families dealing with divorce, blended family issues, loss, and abuse. Jill also works heavily in the area of alcohol and drug abuse, and has five years of experience as a therapist and lecturer at an inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. Jill has many years of experience working as both an individual and family therapist in mental health agencies, hospitals, and the school system. She enjoys working with military and government personnel as well. She is trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefings and volunteered her services to conduct debriefings in Alabama for emergency medical workers with the Red Cross during the 2005 hurricane season.

Jill was a Phi Beta Kappa scholar and received her bachelor's degree in Psychology and French from the University of Delaware. She received a Certificate of the French Language during her studies at the University of Paris, and is able to provide services in English and French. Her masters degree is from the University of Maryland, College Park, in Family Studies and Marriage and Family Therapy. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exercising, playing the cello, and raising three small beautiful children and an unruly Jack Russell Terrier.
